Summer Camps

A Typical Day

Campers’ days are fun-filled with a nice balance of outdoor time in the sun
and indoor air-conditioned activities, always under the expert care of our
counselors and directors.

Each morning begins with play time and greetings at your child’s pick-up site.
We strive to meet parents’ scheduling needs, and can arrange early drop-off
beginning at 7:45 am should you need it. Parents can drop off between 8:30
and 9am, with all campers in attendance by 9am so we can begin the day’s
adventures.

Three times a week, the children board air-conditioned buses for a short 15-
minute ride to our Bay Ridge campus. Think of it as our own private 1/4 of
Prospect Park – just for us! We enjoy acres of verdant fields with views of the
Verrazano Bridge, and the breeze blowing off the water. We also have
exclusive use of a private Bowling Alley, Theater, Gym, and Pool.

They begin with instructional and recreational swim time in the pool under the
expert guidance of our swim instructors and lifeguards. All the swim teachers
are trained by our ex-Olympian head of Aquatics, Eugene Prokhin [2001
Olympics in Sydney], and in addition to our own lifeguards. Safety is the first
priority. Next is fun! Students who attend consistently throughout the summer
typically progress 1-2 swim levels. We meet students where they are, and are
happy to provide alternate poolside activities if your little one would rather not
swim; we are always here to learn about your child and tailor Camp to their
needs!

Lunch is a picnic in the shade, or indoors in our private Bowling Alley.
Children have the option to buy lunch at the on-site cafe or to bring their own
nut-free delicacies. After lunch, campers play – or even bowl!
The afternoon finds Soccer and Basketball Division campers building skills
with experts in those sports. Day Campers rotate between a variety of
activities with teaching artists and specialists, including Martial Arts, Theater in
a 400-person auditorium on stage, Yoga, Archery, and Dance. Hebrew Dual
Language Campers hear Hebrew from native Hebrew-speaking counselors
throughout their day, and have a daily play-based Hebrew language lesson as
one of their daily activities. Everyone travels back together to the pick-up sites
for snack and play time.

In the afternoons, we provide late pick up option until as late as 6 pm.
A Tuesday highlight is a big show as a whole camp, ranging from acrobats to
improv, live musicians to reptiles.
Thursdays, campers look forward to a Trip Day. Trips this summer include
Coco Key Water Resort, LegoLand, NY Hall of Science, Dave and Busters,
and more!
On Fridays, all campers spend a day at Manhattan Beach, building sand
castles and receiving additional instruction in theater, martial arts, yoga,
dance and so much more!
